Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a Virtual Assistant Principal for Gateway Online Academy of Ohio, an online high school serving grades 9-12. You will lead academic, behavioral, and cultural outcomes in a flexible, self-paced online environment with periodic in-person testing events.

The role requires Ohio principal/teacher licensure, extensive experience in education leadership, and a commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications

• Current valid Principal and Teacher license in Ohio.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related discipline.
• Successful completion of federal and state background checks.
• Knowledge of state academic content standards.
• Minimum seven years of experience in education or related field.
• Two or more years of experience in school administration/instructional leadership.
• Advanced degree in education/educational leadership strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to create inclusive environments that honor diverse backgrounds.
• Passion for improving educational opportunities for all students.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a caring, supportive, and inclusive school community.
• Provide coaching and professional development opportunities in effective classroom management strategies.
• Collaborate with staff and families to identify and implement strategies to improve student behavior, attendance, and engagement.
• Engage families and the community to promote student academic success and well-being.
• Implement behavior management practices that motivate students through strong relationships with teachers and positive reinforcements.
• Coordinate and oversee MTSS/RTI processes with fidelity.
• Partner with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and retain staff.
• Support the state-required testing process including in-person testing.
• Update parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks.
