Job summary

SEH is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our finance team as a fully remote leader. You will own the close processes across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with leadership on financial strategy and reporting.

You will mentor accounting staff and collaborate with external auditors to ensure strong controls and continuous improvement. You will interact with senior leadership, help drive budgeting and cost management initiatives, and support the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA certification (active or inactive) preferred.
• Experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller.
• Experience with annual financial statement audits.
• Broad end-to-end accounting operations experience (AP, AR, treasury, audits, close, reporting, contracts).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel; leverage systems to improve processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely, accurate reporting.
• Proactively evaluate accounting standards and regulatory changes; advise leadership on impacts and implementation.
• Build and maintain relationships with external auditors to support audits and improve controls.
• Manage treasury activities including daily cash positioning, forecasting, and banking relationships.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; enforce corporate accounting policies.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Partner with operations and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.
• Collaborate with Controller on financial strategy, process improvements, and special projects.
