Job summary

SEH is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead all accounting operations and drive timely financial reporting from a remote US-based capacity.

You will collaborate with the Controller and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls. This is a remote role with employee-owned culture and opportunity to impact strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA certification preferred/active or inactive.
• Experience in leadership roles (Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller/Controller).
• Experience with annual financial statement audits.
• Hands-on experience across end-to-end accounting operations (AP, AR, treasury, close, reporting).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations and monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Evaluate accounting standards and regulatory changes; advise leadership on impacts.
• Coordinate with external auditors for audits and maintain strong controls.
• Manage treasury activities including daily cash positioning, forecasting, and bank relationships.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal policies.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variances.
• Partner with operations for budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.
• Collaborate with Controller on financial strategy and process improvements.
• Remote role open to candidates in majority US states; relocation optional.
