Job summary

SEH, an employee-owned engineering firm, seeks an Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations, support annual audits, and partner with leadership on financial strategy. This remote role offers executive exposure and a voice in shaping company direction for a scalable, growing practice.

You will oversee close processes, treasury, reporting, and cost management while mentoring accounting staff and ensuring strong internal controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• CPA certification (Active or Inactive) preferred or required depending on seniority.
• Broad, hands-on experience across end-to-end accounting ops including close, audits, treasury, reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors for audits and controls.
• Manage treasury activities including cash positioning and forecasting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; implement policy changes.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Partner with operations on budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff; collaborate with Controller on strategy.
