Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Assistant Controller for a highly visible, hands-on finance role. You will work with senior leadership across fund accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and operations, building scalable processes for a growing investment platform.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a lean environment where impact matters. This remote role offers broad exposure and opportunities to shape finance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in investment management, private equity, venture capital, fund administration, and/or tax.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and regulatory filings across investment vehicles and related entities.
• Manage relationships with external service providers including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Support investment accounting activities including transaction processing, valuations, and investment-related reporting.
• Oversee close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual) and maintain strong internal controls.
• Manage cash activities, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Support investor reporting and other finance-related operational initiatives.
• Drive process improvements, automation efforts, and strategic projects across finance.
