Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the accounting team and oversee day-to-day financial operations on site. You will partner with leadership on month-end close, financial reporting, process improvements, and staff development.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel with ERP experience. CPA or CPA-track is preferred. The position offers a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• CPA license or CPA-track preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Assist in managing audits and supporting external auditors
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
• Mentor and support members of the accounting team
