Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Assistant Controller to support accounting and financial reporting. You will work with executive finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and audit readiness in a dynamic environment.

You will lead monthly closes, prepare statements and analyses, oversee compensation accounting, and drive process improvements across the accounting department in Tampa, Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience supporting month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit activities.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication across departments and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Oversee compensation and incentive-related accounting across multiple business units.
