Job summary

Privia Health seeks an Assistant Controller to scale financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and lead remote finance teams. This role reports to the Corporate Controller and covers close processes, technical accounting, ERP transformation, and SEC reporting readiness.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in accounting, Big 4/public company experience, CPA, and deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX. Healthcare exposure is a plus. Base salary ranges with bonus eligibility are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and public company environments.
• Healthcare or health-tech background preferred.
• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience managing remote accounting teams.
• Strong communication with executive leadership and external auditors.
• Experience with Workday Financials and/or Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct month-, quarter-, and year-end closes with GAAP-compliant statements.
• Oversee journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and schedules.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budget-to-actual analyses and reporting.
• Lead M&A accounting integrations for seamless onboarding.
• Provide guidance on ASC 805/606/842 and other standards.
• Prepare inputs for SEC filings (10-K/10-Q/8-K) and support audits.
• Maintain SOX 404 internal controls framework and liaise with auditors.
• Lead ERP transition efforts including COA design and data migration.
• Oversee treasury operations (banking, ACH/wires, employer benefits).
• Manage and develop a fully remote accounting team.
