Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Project Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in a role focused on energy project site civil design, erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management, and hydrologic modeling. The position offers hybrid or remote work arrangements and is open to candidates in Jacksonville or other SWCA offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in civil engineering, specifically site civil design, erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management design, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.
• Design stormwater management systems and erosion control measures.
• Conduct analyses for utility crossings to minimize environmental impacts while meeting requirements.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Support permitting with regulatory documentation for SWPPPs and erosion control measures.
• Support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering and environmental principles.
• Provide construction-phase services and monitor progress on site.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate goals and progress.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing.
• Follow federal, tribal, state, local, and company regulations.
