Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Project Civil Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role focuses on energy project site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, with hybrid or remote work options available across U.S.

projects. You will support planning, design, and execution of civil engineering tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and prepare technical deliverables while engaging with clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field.
• Three years of experience in civil engineering with site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables for projects.
• Design stormwater management systems and erosion control measures.
• Conduct detailed analyses for utility crossings and environmental constraints.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Support permitting with stormwater plans, SWPPPs, and erosion control measures.
• Support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental science and engineering principles.
• Provide construction-phase services and monitor progress.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate progress and outcomes.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure regulatory compliance.
