Job summary

Global Language System is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide onsite ASL/English receptive and expressive interpretation in diverse settings, both alone and in teams. You will convey the speaker's thought, intent, and spirit to deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals, while maintaining confidentiality and meeting timelines.

The role requires sign language mastery, strong voicing skills, and familiarity with ADA provisions.

Qualifications

• ASL interpreters must provide advanced, accurate voicing to mediate between English and ASL.
• Familiarity with ADA provisions is required.
• Ability to interpret across a broad range of subjects including technical terminology.
• Certification options listed: NIC, CI, or CT.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite ASL/English interpretation in various settings, solo or in teams.
• Convey thought, intent and spirit of speaker to deaf/hard of hearing.
• Maintain confidentiality of information exchanged.
• Meet schedules and timelines.
• Sign, speak, and write clearly; keep detailed records.
