Job summary

Global Language System is seeking ASL interpreters to provide onsite ASL/English interpretation for a client in Charleston, West Virginia. The role supports both solo and team settings, ensuring accurate and culturally informed communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

Candidates should hold NIC, CI, or CT certifications, demonstrate strong voicing skills, and be familiar with ADA provisions. This is a contract/part-time/full-time remote-capable opportunity with flexible scheduling

Qualifications

• Advanced, accurate voicing skills to mediate both culturally and linguistically from ASL to English.
• Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) terminology and provisions.
• Broad experience across a range of interpreting assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite ASL/English receptive and expressive simultaneous interpretation in various settings, solo or in teams.
• Convey the thought, intent, and spirit of a speaker to deaf/hard of hearing individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality of information in interpreting situations and meet schedules.
• Communicate effectively by signing, speaking, and in writing.
• Keep detailed and accurate records and collaborate as required to meet timelines.
