Job summary

The State of Arizona seeks an Archivist to manage archival processing and provide reference services across state agencies. You will work with the ArchivEra CMS, handle XML/HTML content, and support advanced research.

This grant-funded role covers a period of availability and may extend based on program needs. A Master’s degree in history or MLIS is required, with relevant archival experience and the ability to lift 20–30 pounds.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in history or MLIS with three years of experience in records management or archival work.
• Experience with government archives and reference services is preferred.
• Ability to lift 20-30 pounds and access physical archives in controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Process archival collections using best practices.
• Provide archival reference and research support.
• Enter data into ArchivEra CMS and maintain CMS quality.
• Assist Lead Archivist with group processing and research projects.
• Consult with agencies on permanent records transfer per state guidelines.
• Provide reference services in person and online.
• Other duties as assigned (5-10%)
