Job summary
UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement in Northbrook, IL seeks an Archivist to preserve and activate the organizations’ 132‑year history. You will process, accession, arrange and describe archival materials in multiple formats, and support the digital repository for long‑term access.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in library and information science (MLS/MLIS) with a concentration in archives, or a master’s in history/public history with archival experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of archival processing experience.
- Experience with archival collection management software (ArchivEra, ArchiveSpace), Microsoft 365 products (e.g. Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop.
Responsibilities
- Appraise, accession, arrange and describe archival collections and materials in analog and digital formats according to best practices and standards.
- Support development and maintenance of the digital archival repository with digitized and born-digital records.
- Collaborate with teams on communications, social media, and outreach relating to the archives’ history.
