Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement in Northbrook, IL seeks an Archivist to preserve and activate its long history. You will process archives, manage collections, support reference and outreach, and ensure access to analog and digital records following national standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library and information science (MLS/MLIS) with archives concentration or history/public history with archival experience.

Responsibilities

• Appraise, accession, arrange and describe archival collections per national and international standards.
• Support and maintain digital archival repository for long-term preservation and access.
• Collaborate on communications and outreach projects involving organizational history.
• Prioritize archival processing backlog and optimize storage utilization.
• Perform reference questions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct oral histories with long- standing employees and promote donor engagement.
