Job summary

A government contracting firm is seeking a qualified Transcriber to support the Department of Justice with transcription, translation, and interpretation of sensitive legal documents. The ideal candidate will have extensive language transcription experience, a deep understanding of legal terminology, and proficiency in both English and another foreign language. Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in language transcription.
• Qualifying scores ILR 3 minimum or equivalent in language tests.
• Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S.
• 1 year of experience with law enforcement or legal department.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in formal and colloquial contexts.
• Ability to write and translate fluently in both languages.
• Preserve tone, register, and ethics in all translations.

Responsibilities

• Support DOJ with transcription, translation, and interpretation.
• Handle sensitive legal material with confidentiality.
• Travel may be required for certain assignments.

Skills
