Job summary

Boomerang Healthcare is seeking an AR Follow-Up Specialist to manage timely follow-up of accounts receivable within the RCM department. This remote role targets CA Medicare, Commercial, WC, and Rehab billing, with outreach to payers and solid collaboration with billing, coding, and authorization teams.

You will help reduce DSO, improve cash flow, and support denial prevention across payer types while handling varied documentation and appeals as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of AR follow-up experience focused on California Medicare and Commercial billing.
• Working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation billing rules and documentation.
• Experience managing mixed payer AR inventories with tight timelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely follow-up on California Medicare, Commercial, and WC claims to ensure prompt adjudication.
• Direct outreach to payers and contractors to obtain claim status and documentation requirements.
• Resolve claim rejections and underpayments and address missing documentation across payer types.
• Track WC payer timelines and state-mandated payment rules; monitor timely filing and eligibility discrepancies.
• Coordinate with authorization teams to verify documentation before billing; escalate complex cases as needed.
• Identify appeal opportunities; prepare and submit appeal letters and supporting docs.
• Report recurring denial trends and collaborate to prevent recurrence.
