Job summary

Boomerang Healthcare is seeking an AR Specialist to support the Revenue Cycle Management team in Walnut Creek, CA. You will follow up California Medicare, Commercial, and Workers’ Compensation claims and coordinate with billing and authorization teams to improve cash flow.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years AR follow-up experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with multiple EHR/Practice Management systems. This remote role is open to AZ, CA, NM, NV, OR, TX and WA workers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years AR follow-up with emphasis on CA Medicare and Commercial billing.
• Experience with Workers’ Compensation billing and adjuster communication.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely follow-up on CA Medicare, Commercial, and WC claims for prompt adjudication.
• Direct outreach to payers and contractors to obtain claim status and documentation requirements.
• Resolve denials, underpayments, and incorrect fee schedules across payer types.
• Monitor WC timelines and state rules; verify authorizations as needed.
• Escalate complex cases to appropriate internal/external teams; report trends.
