Job summary

Boomerang Healthcare is seeking an AR Follow-Up Specialist to manage California Medicare and Commercial AR, with WC and Rehab duties. This remote role requires proactive payer outreach, claim status monitoring, and denial resolution to optimize reimbursement and reduce DSO.

You will collaborate with billing, coding, and authorization teams, monitor deadlines, and identify denial trends to prevent recurrence across payers. The position supports multiple states including NV.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AR follow-up experience with California Medicare and Commercial billing.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation billing and adjuster communication.
• Experience with multiple payer AR inventories and strict deadlines.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office; strong detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely follow-up on California Medicare, Commercial, and WC claims.
• Direct outreach to payers for claim status, authorization verification, and documentation.
• Resolve rejections, underpayments, and missing documentation across payers.
• Track WC payer timelines and state-specific payment rules.
• Monitor timely filing, medical necessity, COB, and modifier accuracy.
• Coordinate with authorization teams to confirm submission requirements.
• Escalate complex cases to internal or external partners.
• Identify denial trends and support prevention efforts.
• Prepare and submit appeal letters and supporting docs.
