Job summary

Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to embed in development lifecycles, owning application security vulnerability management and code-level fixes in a high-scale Clojure JVM environment.

You will monitor cloud security posture, conduct risk reviews, support audits, and mentor engineers on secure coding. This remote-friendly role offers a competitive base pay and equity options.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering and/or cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on in a JVM environment and reading functional code.
• Experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response.
• Certified professional credentials such as Security+ or CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champion application security vulnerability management with dev teams.
• Triager vulnerabilities in a high-scale Clojure ecosystem and assist fixes.
• Configure, fine-tune, and monitor cloud security posture (SIEM, SOAR, CSP, CNAPP).
• Conduct security reviews and risk assessments for architectures, vendors, and APIs.
• Maintain workspace security, IAM, device compliance, and productivity tools.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding and secure defaults across teams.
