Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to join our remote, US-based security team. You will own application security vulnerability management within development lifecycles, focusing on a heavy Clojure stack and shift-left security practices.

You will monitor cloud security posture, conduct risk reviews, support audits, and mentor engineers on secure coding and governance. This role requires strong problem-solving and collaboration in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering or cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on working within the JVM environment.
• Experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response.
• Thrive in dynamic environments with root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Hold baseline certifications such as Security+; CISSP is a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Champion application security vulnerability management with development teams.
• Configure and monitor cloud security posture and real-time threat responses.
• Conduct security reviews and risk assessments on internal architecture, third-party vendors, and APIs.
• Maintain workspace security including IAM and device compliance.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and secure defaults.
