Job summary

South 8 Technologies seeks an Applications Engineer with a strong background in battery technologies and customer-facing experience to support customers in the design, integration, and optimization of battery packs built using our advanced cells.

This role combines deep technical knowledge of cell-level performance and system-level pack design with business development, ensuring seamless communication with internal teams. International travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in battery pack design, development, and validation.
• Strong understanding of lithium-ion cell behavior, thermal management, BMS integration, and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer outreach to understand technical requirements and provide design guidance.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers integrating our cells into packs.
• Support pack design, validation, and troubleshooting including electrical, thermal, and mechanical aspects.
• Conduct application-level testing to ensure pack performance and safety.
