Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an accounting analyst to join the Accounts Payable team. The role focuses on the monthly and quarterly reconciliation of 40-50 internal AP accounts, with investigation of discrepancies and preparation of journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years in accounting, advanced Excel skills, experience with AP reconciliation and Costpoint, and can work independently in a remote environment while meeting monthly close deadlines.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in an accounting environment and familiar with the reconciliation process
• experience in accounts payable reconciliation and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formula-based data review
• Experience researching discrepancies between the general ledger and AP records
• Ability to prepare accurate journal entries for corrective action
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• U.S. citizenship required - Bachelor's Degree
• government contracting experience
• Costpoint experience

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliation of 40-50 internal AP accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Conduct investigative research when general ledger balances do not match supporting records, identifying root causes and corrective actions
• Prepare and post journal entries to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate financial reporting
• Review AP transactions, vendor activity, and internal documentation to validate account integrity
• Create and maintain Excel-based reconciliation tools, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation checks
• Communicate findings clearly to internal stakeholders, providing recommendations and status updates
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance standards
• Work autonomously while meeting deadlines for monthly close, quarterly reporting, and ad-hoc requests
