Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC invites an experienced Angular/NodeJS Developer to join a remote U.S.-based team supporting Veterans Affairs (VA). You will build and migrate a cloud-based dashboard handling healthcare EDI, design robust RESTful APIs, and collaborate with engineers across Java/.NET and AWS.

The role demands 8+ years in software development with strong back-end focus and a solid track record delivering healthcare data solutions, plus U.S. Citizenship and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and/or NodeJS back-end integration work and Angular front-end UI.
• Understanding of structured healthcare data and RESTful API design.
• Proficiency building back-end services that serve structured data to front-end apps.
• Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and component development.
• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure) including related services like API Gateway/Lambda/S3/CloudWatch.
• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams to define API requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard that processes healthcare EDI transactions.
• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS for EDI data.
• Integrate with internal APIs and data services to deliver live data reliably.
• Support a Angular-based dashboard front-end and ensure accurate data presentation.
• Collaborate with C#/.Net and AWS data engineers on API contracts and data delivery.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews.
