The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, deep Kotlin expertise, and a track record shipping background audio features.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team or owning a major surface while staying hands-on
• Rock solid Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background work
• Understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing them
• Track record of building things your team actually uses, not just for your own speed
• Comfort with changing how teams work and handling associated friction
• Ability to describe how your team works with AI agents
• Product design intuition, user empathy, and drive to push Android UI/UX further

Aufgaben

• Own major features end to end, collaborating with design from decision through release
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Review pull requests and provide thoughtful feedback
• Unblock the team when blockers occur and guide efficient decisions
• Ensure shared components are maintained and easily reusable
• Lead planning to focus on decisions still needed
• Grow automated checks and nightly QA verifications
• Mentor engineers, especially those early in their careers
• Participate in cross-functional discussions across Product, Design, and Engineering
• Handle critical issues and own feature releases with nightly QA builds
• Shift verification left to prevent regressions
• Ensure the team’s reviews and processes are efficient and effective
