Speechify is seeking a remote Team Lead for our Android app who will own core features end to end and work closely with design and product. You will review code, unblock the team, and ensure releases with nightly builds for QA.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software engineering, deep Kotlin/Android expertise, and a track record of shipping background audio or long-running tasks, with a strong emphasis on testing and collaboration.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of software engineering, including time leading a team or owning a major surface while staying hands-on.
• Proven Kotlin expertise and Android development experience with MVVM, Jetpack, and related tech.
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running tasks.
• Strong emphasis on tests, test strategies, and what tests cannot cover.

Responsabilidades

• Own major features end to end, collaborating with design, from decision to release.
• Review PRs and provide constructive feedback beyond approvals.
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and drive decisions.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Promote reusable, well-documented code and shared components.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions early to align constraints.
• Lead planning, estimate effort, and guide team focus toward critical decisions.
• Ensure nightly builds are reliable for QA and release readiness.
• Mentor junior engineers and help them grow skills.
