Ladders is seeking a Staff Engineer - Android (Remote) to lead scalable Android applications with a focus on architecture, quality, and delivery excellence. You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and collaborate with product/design teams to shape impactful features while supporting incident response.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in Android with MVI, strong Kotlin, Jetpack Compose experience, and Agile delivery expertise.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building highly scalable Android apps using MVI architecture.
• Expert-level Kotlin and mentoring others.
• Strong knowledge of Android best practices and user considerations.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and DI patterns.
• Experience delivering with Agile/SCRUM.

Responsibilities

• Drive development, testing, documentation, and deployment of scalable software
• Shape team strategy by leveraging industry and product knowledge
• Lead technical execution of complex features from ideation to deployment
• Define and enforce engineering principles and best practices
• Collaborate with product and design teams for impactful technical decisions
• Lead incident resolution during on-call rotations
• Identify and remove project roadblocks through cross-team collaboration
• Conduct code reviews to enhance code quality
• Steer planning and design discussions with innovative solutions
• Champion improvements in software quality and team documentation
• Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Occasional travel for conferences and team-building activities
