Job summary

Remote Jobs is seeking an experienced Air Freight Coordinator to support day-to-day air freight import operations for a UK-based freight forwarding business. The role is customer-facing and supplier-facing, managing shipments from pre-alert through customs clearance and final delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in air freight forwarding operations.
• Experience within a freight forwarding company.
• Experience with air freight imports from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day air freight import operations.
• Manage shipments from pre-alert through customs clearance and final delivery.
• Review shipment pre-alerts and ensure documentation is complete.
• Follow up with overseas agents and suppliers for missing or incomplete documentation.
• Coordinate customs clearance, airline collections, haulage, and final delivery arrangements.
• Communicate with customers by phone and email regarding shipment status and inquiries.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers, hauliers, and other suppliers.
• Prepare and check shipping and customs documentation as required.
• Provide quotations to customers and partner agents.
• Proactively monitor shipments and provide regular updates throughout the lifecycle.
• Take ownership of service issues, exceptions, and delays.
• Maintain accurate shipment and customer records in the TMS.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and international partners.
• Provide high-level customer service and represent the business professionally.
