Job summary

LatchBio is seeking an AI Biologist to lead structural biology interpretation and validation tasks for AI agents. You will establish ground-truth criteria, design benchmarks, and write gold-standard rationales used by automated systems in macromolecular structure analysis.

This role blends experimental and computational methods across X-ray, cryo-EM, and modeling, with a focus on evidence-based calls and uncertainty quantification.

Qualifications

• PhD in structural biology or related field with strong experimental and computational experience.
• Hands-on experience validating models and maps in X-ray, cryo-EM, or NMR workflows.
• Ability to compute structural metrics from files without a GUI and in Python.

Responsibilities

• Define expert reasoning criteria and write gold-standard answers with defensible rationale.
• Design benchmark scenarios across data collection, map interpretation, model-building and validation.
• Create pipelines to compute ground-truth directly from structural files and datasets.
