LatchBio is seeking an AI Biologist with deep expertise in human physiology to develop rigorous evaluations of AI agents across biology and disease. You’ll work with real experimental and clinical data to establish defensible ground truth and test mechanistic AI reasoning.

This science-first role values deep biological understanding and critical thinking over advanced programming, with collaboration across scientists and engineers to accelerate benchmark development.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD or equivalent in relevant physiology field.
• Deep understanding of human physiology and organ interactions.
• Strong track record in independent research and experimental design.
• Excellent scientific reasoning and critical thinking.
• Experience analyzing experimental, physiological, or clinical data.
• Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex) or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Design scientifically meaningful evaluations testing AI agents' reasoning and problem-solving in biology.
• Work with real biological data from published research and clinical studies to establish ground truth.
• Assess experimental designs and biological mechanisms for rigor and clarity.
• Evaluate AI agents on interpreting biological evidence and drawing defensible conclusions.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to advance benchmark development.
