Job summary

Optum Insight is seeking a senior AI engineering leader to design and deploy AI-powered solutions, digital workers, and intelligent automation across the enterprise. You will prototype, validate, and scale Generative AI technologies to address transformation opportunities, partnering with business, architecture, and engineering teams.

The role requires 7+ years of software experience, strong Python skills, and expertise in AI governance, security, and compliance within regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability.
• 3+ years building solutions on a Python stack with generative AI, LLMs, vector databases and knowledge retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered solutions and intelligent automation with measurable outcomes.
• Prototype, validate, and scale Generative AI, agentic AI, and analytics for enterprise transformation.
• Translate business use cases into production-ready AI solutions with stakeholders across teams.
• Establish AI engineering best practices, governance, and responsible AI controls.
