Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an experienced AI/ML-focused Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that drive operational efficiency.

You will prototype and scale Generative AI, agentic AI, and related technologies, partnering with architecture, engineering and operations teams to translate high-value use cases into production systems while promoting robust governance and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with APIs, microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• 3+ years building solutions on a Python stack including AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and intelligent automation.
• Prototype, validate, and scale generative AI technologies for enterprise use cases.
• Partner with business and tech teams to translate use cases into production AI solutions.
• Establish AI engineering best practices, governance, and responsible AI controls.
• Evaluate disruptive tech and drive innovation pilots for digital operations.
