Job summary

Optum Tech seeks an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead architecture for GenAI and AWS integrations within the Consumer Engineering team. You will translate business needs into scalable solutions, design end-to-end platforms, and guide cross‑functional partners from Product to Data Services.

In this remote-friendly role, you will shape digital routing, microservices patterns, and cloud security while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and delivery timelines across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Connect and digital routing
• Solid understanding of GenAI concepts, LLMs, Lex V2, Bedrock models
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, Step Functions)
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical design documents
• Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures
• Experience building or integrating chatbots or AI agents
• Understanding of scalability, performance tuning, and cloud security
• Collaborating with Product, QA, CRM, WFM, and Data Services teams

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements and translate them into system architecture and configuration specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end alignment.
• Design solution flows using Lex V2, Bedrock models, and Amazon Connect.
• Architect digital routing, processes, and integration points within Amazon Connect.
• Ensure scalability, performance, reliability, and security across solutions.
• Create documentation and diagrams for integrations and configurations.
• Participate in Sprint planning and technical refinement.
• Ensure GenAI bots/workflows follow enterprise design principles and are production-ready.
• Support UAT, SIT, and troubleshooting with engineering and QA.
• Promote standardization and reusability across Connect and GenAI implementations.
