Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a Software Engineer to design, test, and maintain AI-enabled health care systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions, from new builds to maintaining existing programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of software development experience.
• Experience with agentic AI in production, multiple agents and explicit state management.
• 1-2 years building and operating production LLM or agentic AI systems.
• Strong Python knowledge and experience in healthcare/insurance/fintech domains.

Responsibilities

• Design and build LangGraph-based multi-agent orchestration for member intents.
• Manage context across turns and agent handoffs with stateful preservation.
• Implement guardrail and safety layer for PHI handling and compliant responses.
• Develop RAG pipeline with Azure AI Search; define ingestion and retrieval quality.
• Create versioned prompts, contracts, and testable patterns; monitor quality.
• Debug retrieval issues, improve chunking, and build evaluation systems.
