Rula is seeking an Engineering Manager for AI/ML to lead a tight AI-native team delivering user-facing features such as transcript summarization and search relevance, while architecting core ML infrastructure including feature stores and observability platforms.

You will coach Senior and Staff engineers to ship rapidly, ensure safety and privacy, and balance short-term delivery with long-term platform investments to scale AI across mental healthcare.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading or building core ML infrastructure (feature stores, MLOps pipelines, model deployment, AI observability).
• 8+ years software engineering and ML with 5+ years designing, scaling, deploying distributed backend systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• 2+ years directing production-grade AI features focusing on LLM integrations (NLP, transcript summarization, RAG) or search & relevance.
• Proven track record delivering both user-facing features and backend infrastructure across multiple releases.
• 3+ years of engineering management, hiring and mentoring Senior and Staff engineers.
• Experience shipping AI systems in regulated environments (HealthTech/FinTech) balancing privacy and safety without blocking velocity.
• Advanced evaluation frameworks for LLMs combining automated metrics and HITL to reduce hallucinations and bias.
