Rula is seeking an Engineering Manager for AI/ML to lead the AI Engineering team, guiding senior and staff engineers to ship user-facing features like transcript summarization and search relevance while scaling core AI infrastructure such as feature stores and observability platforms.

The role combines strong execution with a focus on safety and clinical considerations, shaping a culture of high talent density and impactful mental healthcare innovation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering and ML, with backend distributed systems in cloud.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading Senior/Staff engineers.
• 3+ years building core ML infrastructure (feature stores, ML pipelines, observability).
• 2+ years directing production AI features focusing on LLMs, search, ranking or relevance.
• Proven track record delivering both product features and backend infra across releases.

Responsibilities

• Lead an AI-native team to rapidly deliver user-facing features (transcript summarization, search relevance).
• Architect and evolve core AI infrastructure including feature stores and observability platforms.
• Balance speed with safety, applying rigorous clinical safety practices for scale.
• Guide cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable and reliable AI systems.
