Job summary

Leidos is seeking an AI/ML Data Scientist to collaborate with mission stakeholders and engineers to identify high-value use cases, develop predictive analytics, and transition prototypes to enterprise-scale solutions.

You will build and evaluate models, conduct data readiness, and contribute to data pipelines, dashboards, and decision-support tools across Coast Guard mission areas. U.S. citizenship and DHS-required clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 8–12 years of relevant experience or a Master's with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data science, ML, AI, or related disciplines.
• Experience developing, evaluating, and deploying ML models.
• Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, Hugging Face or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate AI/ML solutions supporting Coast Guard mission and business operations.
• Build predictive, prescriptive, classification, anomaly detection, NLP, generative AI solutions.
• Develop, train, tune, and validate ML models to improve operational decisions and mission effectiveness.
• Support AI-enabled MVPs, demonstrations, automation pilots, and rapid experimentation.
• Evaluate commercial, Government, and open-source AI/ML models for applicability.
• Collaborate with data engineers to transition prototypes into production.
