Job summary

LMI Government Consulting seeks a Data Engineer to support a SOCOM mission partner. You will design, secure, and sustain enterprise data pipelines and platforms that transform complex data into governed, machine‑learning‑ready formats.

Working within a cross‑functional data science product team, you will enable predictive analytics, NLP, generative AI, dashboards, and mission applications while advancing shared engineering practices across AI/ML efforts. Active SECRET clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years designing, deploying, and sustaining data pipelines and data platforms.
• Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines with CI/CD and testing.
• Advanced Python and SQL proficiency for data transformation and integration.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and data architecture across storage and warehouse tech.
• Experience implementing data quality, metadata, lineage, observability, and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of secure data engineering, IAM, encryption, logging, and least privilege.
• Experience producing technical docs and diagrams.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
• Active SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain data pipelines ingesting data from multiple sources.
• Convert data into standardized, ML-ready formats for analytics and AI use cases.
• Develop and automate ETL/ELT workflows, APIs, and orchestrations for repeatable analytics.
• Design scalable data architectures across relational and non-relational stores and data lakes.
• Implement schema, metadata, lineage, quality controls, and data reconciliation.
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and stakeholders to provide clean datasets.
• Provide enterprise data engineering patterns and best practices across teams.
