Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Remote Back End Developer to design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs for AI-related workloads. The role focuses on data pipelines, model-serving infra, and scalable microservices that handle real-world traffic.

You will work independently in a fully remote, hourly contract with flexible hours, contributing meaningfully to AI infrastructure projects and collaborating with a global team of engineers and researchers.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more backend languages (Python/Go/Java/Node.js/Rust).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Comfortable with cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Able to debug complex systems and work asynchronously across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI training and inference workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code following engineering best practices.
• Integrate with databases, message queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams of engineers and researchers.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct code reviews, and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Work independently on task-based and project-based assignments on your own schedule.
