Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking an AI Native Engineer to implement features, agents, skills, and MCP integrations using Claude Code, operating within an architecture defined by senior engineers.

This remote contractor role requires hands-on development across front-end and backend tech stacks, focusing on building harness components and solving architecture-level challenges. Start date ASAP. 6-8 months with renewal; pay via 1099 / C2C.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Claude Code and AI-enabled tooling in hands-on capacity.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js front end and Python back end data engineering.
• Extensive AWS delivery experience (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, API Gateway, Bedrock).
• Experience with Terraform, Playwright, and Azure DevOps.
• Professional English fluency, written and verbal.
• Timezone overlap of at least 5 hours with PST (8am–6pm PST).

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains harness components (retrieval, tool invocation, evaluation, observability) under review, and contributes improvements back to the shared base harness.
• Works through architecture- and systems-level problems under senior review as the path to progression.
