Remote AI Engineer: Own & Evolve an AI Platform

Job summary

Tier4 Group is seeking a capable AI engineer to own and evolve an AI-powered platform from a remotely-based role in EST, with 5–10% travel. You will partner with the AI Team Lead to advance AI, automation, and intelligent workflows across a growing $800M organization.

You’ll work on an internally developed platform for construction takeoffs and BOMs, leveraging Python, PyTorch, React/TypeScript, Terraform, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Experience training, tuning, deploying, and supporting AI/ML models.
• Azure or cloud-based AI platform experience.
• Strong SQL and database knowledge.
• Experience integrating APIs and third-party services.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, and modern web applications.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Own and improve a production AI application used by the business.
• Troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and user adoption.
• Partner directly with end users to understand pain points and deliver solutions.
• Fine-tune and optimize AI/ML models.
• Design and implement AI-driven product enhancements.
• Build AI agents and workflow automations.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify practical business use cases.
• Work directly with estimators and operational teams.
• Translate business challenges into technical solutions.
• Rapidly prototype and validate new ideas.
• Help define the future AI roadmap.
