AXIA Environmental seeks an AI Engineer & Internal Applications Developer to build internal tools and AI systems that improve operations and win new business. You will own projects from requirements through deployment, combining self-hosted models, document AI, and data pipelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, collaboration with managers and leadership, and turning emerging AI tech into practical business tools for daily use.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems, not just prototypes.
• Strong Python and hands-on with LLM/RAG technologies, including embeddings and vector databases.
• Experience designing and automating data pipelines using AWS or another cloud platform.
• Backend development with REST APIs, relational databases, and containerized deployments.
• Able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff and leadership.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsabilidades

• Design, evaluate, deploy, and maintain self-hosted AI models for internal apps.
• Build RAG pipelines with document parsing, vector search, reranking, and citations.
• Develop methods to measure model accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor AI systems for performance, cost, quality, and failures.
• Build and automate data pipelines from PDFs, reports, and forms to structured data.
• Develop APIs and backend services across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Design interfaces and train employees on new internal applications.
