Job summary

EMCOR is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy practical AI solutions that improve business processes and productivity. You will build generative AI apps, automation workflows, and AI agents, partnering with EMCOR Operating Companies to identify use cases and develop reusable patterns.

The role emphasizes security, governance, and responsible AI practices, with a fully remote work setup reporting to the VP of IT. Strong collaboration with IT and business teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, application development, data engineering, automation, or related tech roles.
• 2+ years hands-on experience building AI, ML, automation, or analytics solutions.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, PowerShell, or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled solutions across EMCOR and its Operating Companies.
• Build practical AI capabilities including generative AI apps, AI agents, workflows, and retrieval augmented generation.
• Partner with operating company leaders to identify high-value AI use cases and prototype solutions.
• Create reusable AI patterns, guidance, and reference implementations for adoption by operating companies.
• Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise platforms, data sources, APIs, and automation tools.
• Develop and maintain prompt engineering standards, evaluation approaches, and testing routines.
• Collaborate with the AI Security Engineer to ensure security and governance alignment.
• Ensure AI development follows EMCOR Secure SDLC guidelines and documentation.
• Document data sources, risks, controls, outputs, and ownership.
• Monitor AI solutions for performance, cost, and business value; recommend improvements.
• Stay current on AI technologies and translate advances into EMCOR use cases.
• Provide training and practical support to EMCOR employees on responsible AI use.
