Job summary

Decisive Point Consulting Group is seeking a Software Product Engineer for a 100% remote role on a federal government project. You will lead design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-enabled systems and microservices, collaborating with product stakeholders and engineering leadership to deliver secure, reliable solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, strong React/Node.js/TypeScript skills, and hands-on use of AI-assisted tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including AI-enabled systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and Node.js / TypeScript, building production-grade services, REST APIs, and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot/Codex, with a proven ability to accelerate development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data and messaging services for event-driven workloads.
• Experience designing and developing microservices, REST APIs, and distributed AI workloads.
• Demonstrated practice of TDD and automated testing to ensure reliability.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, containerized deployments, and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build event-driven, data-intensive backend services in Node.js / TypeScript, using cloud-native solutions.
• Decompose healthcare and AI workflows into a microservices architecture with clear boundaries.
• Drive a TDD practice across the team with strong test coverage and reliability.
• Develop AI pipelines that process structured and unstructured data for intelligent decisions.
• Design cloud-native architectures and distributed systems to support AI-driven applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into deployable solutions.
• Take on additional tasks to support team objectives and project success.
