Job summary

WEX Inc. invites an undergraduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field to join our Engineering teams as a Summer Intern.

You will work at the intersection of Developer Enablement and AI Infrastructure, tackling platform challenges with Python, Git, AWS, Terraform, and GenAI tools under senior mentorship. You’ll contribute to MCP servers, CI/CD automation, and secure SDLC practices while collaborating with distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE, IT or related field.
• Foundational Python programming and API integration knowledge.
• Experience with GitHub workflows and CLI tooling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build & support AI infrastructure across the SDLC.
• Modernize CI/CD, upgrade dependencies, and create reusable workflow templates.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and manage Artifactory repos and RBAC.
• Assist internal developers by triaging GitHub, Artifactory, and CI/CD tickets.
• Evaluate GenAI tools to automate engineering workflows and backend services.
• Help enforce SDLC security and metadata standards and guardrails.
• Document starter guides and update technical READMEs for secure pipelines.
• Participate in daily standups and cross-team collaboration.
