WEX Inc. is a global commerce platform that helps businesses simplify operations and drive efficiency. This 13-week paid internship runs from late May to mid-August, offering mentorship, real projects, and pathways to return full-time roles.

Remote, hybrid, and onsite options are available. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work with engineers and product managers to tackle distributed systems challenges, build backend components, and explore AI agents in the cloud.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CS/Software related field and have completed at least sophomore year.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET and OO design fundamentals.
• Foundational understanding of identity and security protocols (OAuth/OIDC/JWT/Passkeys).
• Hands-on exposure to AWS, Docker containerization, and GitHub CI/CD workflows.
• Experience or interest in building AI skill-based agents, with basic Python scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write backend components and scalable services using C#/.NET.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers on distributed systems challenges.
• Implement cloud security and secure authentication/authorization in workflows.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage CI/CD on AWS via GitHub.
• Experiment with AI agents and productivity scripting.
