Job summary

LatchBio is seeking exceptional basic and clinical scientists to push the frontier of AI-assisted biology for diagnosing, treating, and researching rare and progressive diseases. You will help build benchmark datasets from studies and your own work, testing how AI agents perform complex analytical steps that expert scientists do.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS/MD/PhD/PharmD) in biology, genetics, physiology, computational biology, or a related biomedical field.
• 3+ years of hands-on research experience with publications or industry impact.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for biological data analysis and visualization or expert‑level experience in experimental or methods design.
• Deep scientific or clinical expertise in at least one relevant disease area (rare/genetic/autoimmune/infectious/idiopathic, neurodegeneration, COPD/MASH).
• Expertise in designing and troubleshooting relevant wet‑or dry‑lab experiments OR expertise in clinical diagnosis, treatment, and research.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to evaluating how AI agents help diagnose, treat, conduct research and target discovery in rare and progressive diseases.
• Build ground‑truth benchmark datasets drawn from studies, experience, and novel work.
• Collaborate with scientists, physician‑scientists, software engineers and computational biologists to test analytical and interpretative steps.
