Job summary

Badger is seeking a hands-on AI Architect / Senior AI Engineer to design and build a new generation of autonomous AI systems. This role offers hybrid or fully remote work anywhere in the US, with opportunities to shape the technical direction of an ambitious AI platform.

You will work on autonomous AI agents, memory management, tool integration, and distributed systems, driving prototypes from concept to working MVP and owning significant technical decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, AI/ML experience.
• Strong experience with LLMs and AI agents.
• Strong backend and system design skills.
• Experience with distributed or asynchronous systems.
• Experience building autonomous or agent-based systems.
• Good memory, retrieval, and context management.
• Able to take an idea from concept to prototype.
• Strong problem-solving and autonomous work ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop autonomous AI agents with persistent state and memory.
• Plan, reason, and make decisions for agent systems.
• Model behavioral patterns and personality for decision making.
• Manage long-term memory and context.
• Implement tool use and dynamic tool selection.
• Build and operate distributed agent systems at scale.
• Monitor, evaluate, and simulate AI behavior.
