CareStar, Inc. is seeking an After Hours Coordinator to support Ohio across the state in our Quality Improvement program. This part-time, remote role helps individuals access essential services and develop personalized care plans, while aligning with our mission to improve lives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of clerical, receptionist or secretarial experience; healthcare customer service preferred.
• Home internet access required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Home-based position requires access to CareStar calls and the CareStar database to stay responsive.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA privacy.
• Strong oral and written communication; familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming telephone calls and use CareStar’s database to research information needed to appropriately process calls.
• Communicate with callers in courteous, respectful and professional manner.
• Log each incoming and outgoing call with date, time, caller, type of call, information from call and follow-up.
• Respond to questions from consumers/applicants/others with informative and appropriate responses using resource materials provided.
• Recognize situations which must be referred to the on-call supervisor and/or treated as an emergency; complete appropriate referrals and follow through in a timely manner.
• Promptly contact Supervisor, management staff or technology support as required.
• Participate in orientation, training, in-services and staff meetings to enhance knowledge and understanding of program information.
• Serves on work groups, community groups, committees, or other task forces and attends meetings as requested.
• Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
