Job summary

Vexcel Imaging US Inc. in Boulder, CO is seeking a Lead Flight Operations to manage day-to-day aerial data collection across North America. You will coordinate aircraft, crews, and vendors, balancing schedules, quality, and cost while driving improvements in flight operations.

This role is remote-friendly within the U.S. but primarily operates from the Boulder office. Ideal candidates have experience overseeing multi-crews, strong geospatial knowledge, and proficiency with GIS tools, SQL, and

Qualifications

• Experience managing field operations with multiple crews, vendors, or partners.
• Familiarity with geospatial data formats such as GeoJSON, KML, CSV, shapefiles, GeoPackages.
• SQL and general database knowledge.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with aerial survey, remote sensing, or aviation operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day aerial data collection operations across North America.
• Coordinate aircraft, crews, vendors, and priorities as conditions change.
• Balance schedule, quality, operational efficiency, and cost.
• Drive continuous improvement across flight operations.
• Monitor weather and operational conditions across active collection areas.
• Make real-time decisions to redirect aircraft and resolve conflicts.
• Review plans for accuracy before execution.
• Verify collected data meets planned coverage and quality requirements.
